Director.
Mr. Roy Rodriguez is currently the Director of Pecan Trail Intermediate Theatre, where he founded their theatre arts program which features numerous plays and a yearly musical. Formerly of A&M Consolidated High School, Roy served as the Technical Theatre Director and the Director of Speech and Debate. Prior to teaching at AMCHS, Roy studied theatre at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi where he earned an acting scholarship and performed in numerous plays. He finished his schooling at Texas A&M University and graduated with Honors. Roy is a proud recipient of a 2001 4A UIL One Act Play State Championship from Gregory-Portland High School's production of "Over the River and Through the Woods". His Play " The Adventures of Sam Cobalt" is the Recipient of the 2017 TETA Playfest award for one of the "Top 10" Ten Minute Plays at the Convention. Roy has received extensive training in New York at the iTheatrics Broadway academy where he is one of their first Level 2 Certified Educators/Directors. Roy serves UIL as a TTAO Certified One Act Play Adjudicator, State Contest Director for Cross Examination Debate and Regional Director for UIL Congress. Roy also works as a Remote Improv Instructor at the Peoples Improv Theatre in New York City.
